Operation Christmas Child
Thank You
A big thank you to everyone who helped out with our collection of shoe boxes. With contributions from the church, the local school, other churches and members of the public 120 shoe boxes were collected this morning (18/11/09). Once these boxes are processed they will soon find their way into the hands of needy children in time for Christmas. Well done.

Collection dates 1-18 November 2009
At our mission evening on Saturday 19 September we introduced this year's Operation Christmas Child campaign.
If you've never heard of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) before the basic idea is that you take an empty shoe box, and you fill it with small gifts for either a boy or a girl, who is living in a part of the world where due to war, famine, etc will not be experiencing the joy of Christmas this year.
After you have filled your box, and wrapped the box and the lid ...
...you put a sticker on the outside to show who the box is for.
The dates of the 2009 campaign run from 1-18 November - these are the dates between which you can hand in your completed shoe box. But obviously there is nothing to stop you packing boxes well ahead of these dates.
We will be collecting boxes at Camrose Baptist Church for collection on 18 November. If you want to drop off a box (before 18 November please) just give us a call and arrange a suitable time.
