Supporting Mission
One of Jesus' last instructions to his disciples was that they go into the whole world telling people about him, teaching them what they had learnt, and inviting people to become disciples of Jesus too (Matthew 28:19-20). We are doing that here in Edgware, but others have been sent to places further afield. But none of us does that on our own - God helps us and other Christians support through prayer and financial assistance. Here at Camrose we are currently supporting four mission opportunities. They are:
Matt & Gillian Oliver
Matt has now taken on his new role with More than Gold focusing on coordinating and encouraging a Christian response to the opportunites afforded by the London Olympics. This is a body who seek to help the church respond to this unique oppourtunity: casting vision, connecting and coordinating Christians in the delivery of programs and events leading up to, during and beyond the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Alfred Kennedy
Alfred is a member of West Hendon Baptist Church and regularly returns to his native Liberia to help and strengthen village churches still struggling in the aftermath of years of civil war.
David and Fiona Lea
David and Fiona are members of Kenton Baptist Church and moved to Albania at the beginning of 2010 to work in a school in the capital city Tirana. They are working with BMS World Mission and further information and prayer news etc can be found by clicking here.
The BMS Delhi 2010 Action Team
Each year BMS World Mission sends teams of young people all over the world. This June (17-24) we hosted the team who had spent 6 months living and working in Delhi. This was a great week, very inspiring.
