Leadership Team
The term 'leadership team' can be a little misleading within the context of a Baptist Church - because those who are seen as leaders are actually here to serve the church. Since September 2009 we have been served by a minister and a team of 7 deacons. [The word 'deacon' comes from the Bible and it means 'servant']. Each person in this team has different areas of responsibility and they are helped in this by many others in the church - because we believe that everybody has an important part to play.

The Deacons
Lorraine Bennett - Secretary
Although I was brought up in a Christian home I have only been a Christian for 27 years. I am married with four grown up sons, and 9 grandchildren. I was born in the West Indies and came to the UK as a teenager.
My hope and desire is that God will keep me uplifted so that I would be of an encouragement to others and to see people come to know the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. My prayer is that one day all of my family will experience the love of Christ so that when we stand in heaven the circle will not be broken.
I enjoy travelling, reading, puzzles and dress making.
Daniel Gunaseelan - Treasurer
I am 50 years old, married with two teenage children. I was born in to a Christian family and was christened as an infant. I was confirmed in an anglican church and baptised by immersion in a pentecostal church - so I have a varied experience of different churches.
My personal encounter with God happened in 1977 whilst I was at university and been attending Camrose since 1989.
Although I am the treasurer of the church I have no financial backround except as a treasurer to the church missionary council. Nevertheless I pray that God will be able to use me in this role.
Among other interests I play badminton.
David Mensah - Pastoral Care
I was born in Ghana into a non-Christian home environment. I am married to Vicky, who was a member of Camrose many years before I was, and we have two teenage children.
I was baptised at Camrose in 2002. Before retiring just over a year ago I worked with both Barnet and Brent social services for 30 years.
My fervent prayer is to continue to grow in Christ Jesus and to serve His Church - particularly here at Camrose.
Denise Keohan - Children and Young People
I became a Christian in 1987 and have been worshipping at Camrose since January 2000. I am currently involved in teaching in the Sunday school and also helping with stewarding on a Sunday morning.
I was born and raised in
My main interests are watching football and going to the gym.
Mariette Mensah - Prayer
I am proud to be called a child of God - uniquely and fearfully made in God's image.
Having nearly lost my life in a road accident I realised that it was only by the grace of God that I am alive. I have discovered the freedom to live a peaceful, happy life by applying the Bible to my everyday struggles and challenges and in turn desire to encourage others to do the same.
I am a catering and life skills trainer for adults with special needs and learning difficulties and am very passionate about my job. I believe that God can use anyone to touch and change lives. I pray that God will use me as a deacon in this church to do his will and to bring glory to His name.
Ruth Hoare - Premises
I am 55 years old and am married to Chris. We are blessed with three grown up children. I have been a Christian since I was thirteen, but I am still a 'work in progress' under God's care and guidance. Being discipled from a Brethren background has given me a solid doctrinal foundation and deep spiritual understanding to grow steadily in my spiritual journey.
Prayer and Bible reading are a prominant feature in my daily routine, underlined with a child like faith.
I work as a teaching assistant, and my motto in life is to seek God's wisdom and guidance at all times and to trust and serve God.
