Christian Aid Week

13-19 May 2012

Christian Aid is an organisation formed in the 1940s which aims to tackle the root causes of poverty and create a world where all are equal and free. It seeks to help those in need, working overseas in poverty-stricken areas with local churches and movements which share the same values. Christian Aid is committed to working with those of other faiths and takes seriously its aim of eradicating world poverty.

Christian Aid Week 2012 runs from May 13-19 and is seven days of fantastic fundraising across the UK and Ireland. It is the country's biggest house-to house-collection and also sees many people take part in a variety of activities to raise money for those that need it.

As a church we are arranging a number of fundraising activities. These include a curry evening on 19 May, and a 5km run on 20 May.

Christian Aid has produced three online animations to help get its important message across. The videos demonstrate the variety of projects Christian Aid undertakes.
